And yes: change can be fun. Once you learn and understand that people need different things before they can change – and what those are. In the CHANGE SKILLS workshop people discover what it is they need and desire and how to constructively communicate about it. They also learn how to easily take everyone’s needs into account in a change process. During the workshops people explore through our lens lab a whole new range of perspectives on the future.
Often a change process causes great internal divisions. One thinks it’s going too fast, the other is complaining that it’s going too slow. Some are afraid of losing freedom and others fear losing control. This program ensures that people feel valued and heard and often experience a renewed feeling of community again.
The Academy of Understanding has conducted research in large organizations going through changes. Findings were processed in new interventions and immediately tested on its effects in practice through trainings, workshops and coaching. In two to six half day sessions this program offers participants a range of broadening insights and experiences that enable them to work and effectively realize change together. A digital change inspiration program after the workshops ensures that the acquired knowledge really has a chance to stick.
CHANGE SKILLS: A GIFT FOR LIFE
To successfully change, it is critical for any organization to be able to give employees the feeling that they are being listened to and understood in times of change and uncertainty. That the organization understands what everyone needs in order to be able to accept the ‘HAVE TO’ of change. And that employees have easy access to insights and tools to skillfully WANT and BE ABLE to change.
In three modules of two half-days, the Change Skills workshop program takes participants from the acceptance of the ‘HAVE TO’, to the development of WILLINGNESS and ABILITY. Exercises in mental and emotional flexibility strengthen the ability to accept. Experiences in looking and thinking differently broaden everyone’s perspectives dramatically in looking at the present and the future. Participants will for the rest of their lives enjoy the benefits of such thinking at work and beyond.
